INTRODUCTION:
------------
Thankyou for buying F1 Licenceware music Vol 3; F1 SLOW MUSIC.
If you haven`t bought volumes 1 and 2 (why not?!) then they are:
F1 Music Vulume 1 (a miscallaneous collection of modules)
F1 Rock (mostly rock and heavy type songs)
If you have either of the two, then you`ll know generally what to
expect. There are 9 mods on the disk for the use of F1 Programmers
in their productions, which can be loaded up into either protracker
(which is included on the disk - instuctions later) or Octamed. I
actually created the songs in Octamed, then converted them so they
should be easier to use in games. If they`re not, and you are
desparate for an Octamed format module, write and let me know. If
loads of people write, then I may do and exclusive Octamed module
disk.
. I`m hoping to build up a collection which will include music for
any needs, so if there are any suggestions for music styles that
you`d like me to do, then write and let me know at the address below.
You can use any of the modules, which are in Protracker format as
long as you credit me for them!
INSTRUCTIONS
------------
When Protracker has loaded, click on `DISKOP`. Then, click on `DF0`
When the directory has loaded, clicking on the name of a module
will load it automatically. When loading has finished, click on
`MAIN MENU` (in the top-left corner). Now, to hear the module,
just click on `PLAY SONG`. It`s all pretty self explanatory.
To stop playing, press `STOP`. To start the song again, you need to
change the `POS` counter to zero, then click on `PLAY SONG` again.
THE MUSIC
---------
NAME LENGTH UNPACKED SIZE
---- ------ -------------
- CIRCUS MUSIQUE 2:30 54880
I tried to give this one an eiry, circus feel to it, which
I hope has succeeded. The use of organ is offset by the use
of the brass and piano.
- FRETLESS 3:00 122984
This one is a slightly more standard fair (oh dear, crap
circus/fair pun number 36...) It`s a slow peice, with
extensive use of flutes, and some electric guitar on the
chorus. It sounds a bit like a high-score table piece of
music to me.
- GUITAR 0:46 13002
This is a tiny, short mod which uses only one instrument.
A piano. (Or maybe it`s a guitar?) It`s not terribly good,
but I`m sure someone can find a use for it?!
- IVORY 2:07 26114
Yet another small module. This one uses a lot of echo
commands. As there is no real tune to this (!) it may be
best for in-game music, as it`s quite unobtrusive.
- MELLOW TUNING 3:17
This starts with a simple drum pattern, which builds up
slowly with a bass guitar, until a mellow flute takes up
the melody. This then builds up to the chorus, with
string chords and so on. A little piano bit finishes it
off, then it loops to the start.
- SADNESS 2:31 78708
This is a simple tune, with a standard set of chord changes.
There`s a guitar intro on the first verse, then a flute
takes over for the main melody. There is a change of rhythm
and style for the guitar solo in the middle part of the song.
- SPOOKY 3:26 107628
This module is very slow and atmospheric, building up from a
beginning of soft chords, to a sparse drum beat, then back to
a heart-beat finish. It`s very much in the Shadow of the Beast
style of music.
- SYNTHREED 2:25 39662
`Synthreed` has a sort of synthesizer type feel to it. It uses
only three instruments, and has no drum beat at all. The
rhythm is kept going by the `synthreed` sound, and then by
the bass. The lead tune is discordant at first, but then
becomes melodic before the chorus.
- WHY BOTHER? 2:21 110550
`Why Bother` is probably one of my saddest pieces of music. I
wrote it after my grandmother died when I was feeling depressed.
The result is a slow song, with a distinctive tune, and good
use of guitar, to build up to the finish. It`s quite short, but
is, I think, full of a feeling of despair and sorrow.
I really hope that you like the music, and can find a use
for it. A lot of work has gone into this disk - please don`t
spread this disk, and please don`t forget to credit me, should
you use any of the music.
If you want a disk by me which you can spread, then look out in
the Public Domain for MUSICALLY CHALLENGED
and MELODICALLY CORRECT
and coming soon: HARMONIOUSLY DIFFERENT
Also look out for my other two F1 disks if you don`t have them,
and, coming soon.... F1 ? (to be decided!)
